5 CRA Benefit Payments in February 2025

1. Canada Child Benefit (CCB)

Payment Date: February 20, 2025

The CCB is a tax-free monthly payment designed to assist families with raising children under 18 years of age.

Eligibility:

  • You must live with a child under 18 and be their primary caregiver.
  • You must be a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
  • Either you or your spouse/common-law partner must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected person, or a temporary resident who has lived in Canada for the previous 18 months.

Payment Amount: The amount varies based on family income, the number of children, and their ages. For the period from July 2024 to June 2025, the maximum annual benefit is:

  • Up to $6,997 per child under 6
  • Up to $5,903 per child aged 6 to 17

These amounts are subject to income thresholds and may be reduced as family income increases.

2. Old Age Security (OAS)

Payment Date: February 26, 2025

OAS is a monthly payment available to seniors aged 65 and older, providing financial support during retirement.

Eligibility:

  • Must be 65 years or older.
  • Canadian citizens or legal residents who have lived in Canada for at least 10 years after turning 18.

Payment Amount: As of January to March 2025, the maximum monthly OAS payment is:

  • $727.67 for individuals aged 65 to 74
  • $800.44 for individuals aged 75 and over

These amounts are reviewed quarterly and may be adjusted for inflation.

3. Canada Pension Plan (CPP)

Payment Date: February 26, 2025

CPP provides monthly payments to individuals who have contributed to the plan during their working years, offering income during retirement or in the event of disability.

Eligibility:

  • Must have made at least one valid contribution to the CPP.
  • Be at least 60 years old to start receiving retirement benefits.

Payment Amount: The amount depends on the contributions made and the age at which you start receiving the pension. As of 2025, the maximum monthly amount for new beneficiaries starting at age 65 is $1,433. However, the average monthly amount is typically lower, reflecting individual contribution histories.

4. Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB)

Payment Amount: The amount varies based on individual circumstances, including income, age, and family status.
