Worker with Saskatchewan Experience Streams – SINP (Detailed Guide)

Saskatchewan Experience Categories provide pathways for individuals with prior work or study experience in the province to apply for permanent residence. These categories include the Saskatchewan Experience, Existing Work Permit, and Health Professionals sub-programs.

Saskatchewan Experience Categories Overview

There are a total of 6 categories in the Saskatchewan Experience stream of SINP.

1. Skilled Worker With Existing Work Permit

Eligibility Requirements

• Obtain a permanent full-time job offer from a Saskatchewan employer and hold a valid work permit issued by IRCC to be eligible for Worker with Saskatchewan Experience Streams.
• Individuals with specific work permits (e.g., CUAET, LMIA-supported, Mobilite Francophone) can apply for TEER “1,” “2,” “3,” “4,” and “5” occupations. Others can apply with TEER “0,” “1,” “2,” or “3” occupations or in a designated trade.
• If on an open work permit due to your spouse’s application, additional documentation may be requested to prove residency in Saskatchewan.
• Possess a valid SINP Job Approval Letter obtained through employer registration with the SINP.
• Have gained at least six months (780 hours) of consecutive full-time work experience with the employer providing the Job Approval Letter.
• Attain a minimum CLB 4 score if the job offer is in a TEER “4” or “5” occupation.
• Demonstrate eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure if the occupation is regulated.

2. Semi-skilled Agriculture Worker with Existing Work Permit

Eligibility Requirements

• Secure a permanent full-time job offer from a Saskatchewan employer, with the job falling under specific National Occupation Classifications (NOCs).
  • • NOC 85100: Livestock labourers
    • NOC 85101: Harvesting labourers
    • NOC 84120: Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators
    • NOC 85103: Nursery and Greenhouse labourers

• Obtain a valid SINP Job Approval Letter from the employer.
• Accumulate at least six months (780 hours) of consecutive full-time work experience with the employer providing the Job Approval Letter, holding a valid work permit under specific programs.
• Eligible work permits include Seasonal Agriculture Worker Program, International Experience Canada, Temporary Foreign Worker Program, or Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel.
• Hold at least a secondary school education.
• Attain a minimum CLB 4 score if the job offer corresponds to NOC TEER “4” occupation.

3. Health Professionals

Eligibility Requirements

• Worked for a minimum of six months (780 hours) on a full-time basis (30+ hours per week) for the employer providing the permanent job offer.
• This applies to individuals holding a temporary work permit in roles such as Physician, Nurse, or other health professionals.
• The nominee must have the intention to permanently reside in Saskatchewan, and it’s essential to note that all nominees with temporary work permits must establish residence in Saskatchewan.

4. Hospitality Sector Project

Eligibility Requirements

Presently employed in Saskatchewan under a temporary work permit obtained through a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), with a minimum of six months (780 hours) of service with a SINP Hospitality-approved employer.

The eligible roles include:

• Food/Beverage Server (NOC 6513)
• Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper (NOC 6711)
• Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff (NOC 6731)

5. Long-Haul Truck Driver Project

Eligibility Requirements

• Have at least six months (780 hours) of consecutive full-time work experience with the employer providing the Job Approval Letter, supported by a valid work permit.
• Hold a current Saskatchewan Class 1A driver’s license.
• Secure a full-time, permanent job offer from an approved trucking firm in Saskatchewan to be eligible for Worker with Saskatchewan Work Experience.
• Demonstrate English language proficiency of at least Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 4 in all four categories (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
• Obtain a valid SINP Job Approval Letter, facilitated through employer registration and qualification verification by the SINP.

6. Students

Eligibility Requirements

1. Graduated from a recognized Saskatchewan post-secondary institution with a certificate, diploma, or degree.
2. Accumulated a minimum of 6 months (or 780 hours) of paid employment in Saskatchewan, including on-campus, off-campus, co-op terms, verified graduate fellowships, or post-graduate work permit experience.
3. Currently hold a valid post-graduation work permit or Open Work Permit (Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel).
4. Possess a permanent, full-time job offer in your field of study from an approved Saskatchewan employer, related to NOC TEER levels “0,” “1,” “2,” or “3” occupations, or a designated trade (excluding Food and Beverage Servers, who apply under the Hospitality Sector Project).
5. Hold a valid SINP Job Approval Letter obtained through employer registration and qualification verification.
6. Attain a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 language score if your job offer is in a designated trade occupation at NOC TEER level “4” or “5.

How to Apply?

1. Review Eligibility Criteria:
   • Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the “Worker with Saskatchewan Work Experience” category. This may include having a minimum period of work experience in Saskatchewan, language proficiency, and other requirements.
2. Create an Express Entry Profile:
   • If you haven’t already, create an Express Entry profile with the federal government of Canada. SINP nominations are made through the Express Entry system.
3. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI):
   • Submit an Expression of Interest through the SINP online system. Provide accurate and detailed information about your work experience, language proficiency, education, and other relevant details.
4. Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA):
   • If your EOI is selected, you may receive an Invitation to Apply from the SINP. This will outline the next steps in the application process.
5. Apply for SINP Nomination:
   • Complete the SINP nomination application after receiving the ITA. Submit all required documents, making sure your application is complete.
6. Application Processing:
   • Wait for the SINP to process your application. Processing times may vary.
7. Nomination Certificate:
   • If approved, you will receive a nomination certificate from the SINP.
8. Submit Application for Permanent Residence:
   • Use the SINP nomination certificate to apply for permanent residence with the Canadian government through the Express Entry system
