Note: The Ontario In-Demand Skills stream imposes specific criteria that both the foreign national applicant and the Ontario employer must fulfill.

Applicant Requirements

Job Offer:

  • You need a full-time job offer from an Ontario employer, paying at least the median wage for your occupation, and must be in one of Ontario’s designated In-Demand Occupations.

Work Experience:

  • At least 9 months of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience in the same in-demand occupation within three years prior to application.
  • Part-time equivalent is either 1,200 hours over 18 months in one job or 1,200 hours over nine months in multiple jobs.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher.
  • Submit proof of language proficiency through an approved test taken within two years before the application submission.

Education:

  • Possession of a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent.
  • If education is completed outside Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report validating equivalence to a Canadian high school diploma is required.

License:

  • If your job requires a license or authorization in Ontario, you must possess a valid one at the time of application.

Intention to Live & Legal Status:

  • Intend to live in Ontario after obtaining permanent residency.
  • Show ties to Ontario through employment, education, property ownership, etc.
  • If applying from within Canada, maintain legal status until nomination

Employer Requirements

1. Business Premises & General Requirements:

  • Operate actively for at least 3 years in Ontario.
  • Maintain business premises within Ontario.

2. Business Financial Requirements:

Maintain good standing in Ontario with a history of sound business practices.

Meet minimum revenue and employee criteria:

  • GTA: $1 million CAD annual revenue and five full-time employees.
  • Outside GTA: $500,000 CAD annual revenue and three full-time employees.

3. Business Employee Requirements:

  • At least five full-time Canadian citizen or permanent resident employees for GTA locations.
  • At least three full-time Canadian citizen or permanent resident employees for locations outside GTA.

The application fee for the OINP In-Demand Skills stream includes the processing fee:

  • CAD 1,500 if the job offer is outside the Greater Toronto Area.
  • CAD 2,000 if the job offer is within the Greater Toronto Area (City of Toronto, Durham, Halton, York, and Peel region)

These analysts look at financial information to help companies make smart money decisions. They work in places like banks and investment firms.

To become a financial analyst, you need to have a degree in finance, accounting, or something similar, and you should have experience with financial analysis.
