2. Program Changes
3. New Streams or Pilots
4. Application Volume
5. Economic Conditions
6. Federal Immigration Policies
7. Immigration Levels Plan
Conclusion

Will BC PNP Points drop in 2025?

It is unlikely that BC PNP will see a significant drop in points, however, chances of points falling by 2-4 points can be predicted for upcoming draws in the mid of the year. This could be predicted based on a recent number of invitations sent in each draw which has been declining since the beginning of this year.

In order to keep their number of invitations steady BC PNP will need to decrease their overall points in PNP streams thus it can be seen that upcoming draws could see slightly more invitations and fewer scores required.

Factors affecting BC PNP scores

There are several factors that could affect BC PNP draws and determine the BC PNP points. These factors are:

1. Labour Market Demand

Certain sectors in BC, like technology, healthcare, and construction, may experience higher demand for skilled workers. If these sectors grow, the PNP may lower points to attract more qualified individuals.

If there are significant shortages in specific occupations for example Skilled Trade or BC professional trades, BC PNP may reduce the points required for those categories to ensure a sufficient supply of skilled workers.

2. Program Changes

Changes in the eligibility criteria, such as modifications to the minimum language requirements, educational qualifications, or work experience, can affect the pool of applicants and the points required. BC PNP has changes it points system completely from 2019 which affected lot of people who were in pool earlier.

3. New Streams or Pilots

Introduction of new streams or pilot programs targeting specific industries or regions can impact overall points. For example, a new streams will be introduced for international graduates studying bachelor, master’s and PhD.

4. Application Volume

This is one of the most significant factors for BC PNP points criteria. The higher the number of applications, the higher the scores will be, gradually when a number of applicants starts to decline score will also start to decline itself.

This can be seen each year when beginning of the year more people are participating in the pool making the point higher and when applicants remain BC PNP points go down.

5. Economic Conditions

The overall health of BC’s economy plays a crucial role in determining whether will BC pnp points drop in 2024.

If BC’s economy is in growth then chances are likely that BC PNP will encourage more people to come in and contribute to the economy. Conversely, an economic downturn could lead to higher points due to reduced demand.

If immigration has a direct positive impact on the economy and culture of British Columbia then BC PNP will likely promote immigration and invite more people.

6. Federal Immigration Policies

Changes in the federal Express Entry system, such as adjustments to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores or the introduction of targeted draws, can affect the BC PNP. If Express Entry becomes more competitive, BC PNP might lower its points to attract skilled workers who may not meet the federal cut-off.

7. Immigration Levels Plan

Every province has a limited quota to give nominations each year, and BC PNP has quota of around 10,000 people every year. If they reach the quota of nominations it will less likely they will drop the points.

Conclusion

Predicting that “will BC PNP points drop in 2024” might get a little hard based on these reasons above it is always recommended that you try to increase your BC PNP points.
