The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is an immigration program in PEI to attain all the in-demand occupations in Prince Edward Island with the necessary skills and expertise to address labor gaps in the job market. Prince Edward Island has different streams to meet their distinct economic and social requirements.

The Occupations in Demand stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) can serve as a means for recruiting talent from abroad for Prince Edward Island employers. Upon approval, applicants can receive a Work Permit Support Letter to facilitate their application for a work permit

Eligibility Requirements for PEI Occupations in Demand

  1. Possess a full-time, non-seasonal permanent job offer from a PEI employer in one of the specified categories:
    • NOC 33102 (Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates)
    • NOC 73300 (Transport truck drivers)
    • NOC 75110 (Construction trades helpers and labourers)
    • NOC 65310 (Light duty cleaners)
    • NOC 95109 (Other labourers in processing, manufacturing, and utilities)
    • NOC 75101 (Material handlers)
    • NOC 94140 (Process control and machine operators food and beverage processing)
    • NOC 94141 (Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers, and related workers)
  2. Have at least one year of full-time work experience directly relevant to the job offered by a PEI employer.
  3. Age Requirements: Be between 18 to 59 years old.
  4. Educational qualification: Successfully completed (at minimum) a secondary school diploma (high school).
  5. Language proficiency: Provide a valid language test result from an IRCC-approved testing institution, achieving a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4. Test results remain valid for 2 years from the test date.
  6. Financial capability: Demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover all immigration expenses, including travel costs for oneself and family members to settle in PEI.
  7. Genuine settlement intention: Show a sincere intention to establish residency in PEI

Application Process for PEI Occupations In Demand Stream:

1. Initiate by creating and submitting a profile through the Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest system (PEI EOI system):

  • Profiles within the PEI EOI system remain valid for a maximum duration of six months.

2. Selection Process:

  • Eligible candidates will be chosen from the PEI EOI system and directly contacted by the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
  • Selected candidates will receive an invitation to submit an official application for provincial nomination by PEI.

3. Provincial Nomination Approval:

  • Upon approval for a provincial nomination, applicants gain the eligibility to proceed with an application for Canadian permanent resident status through the federal government.

4. Work Permit Support:

  • While awaiting processing of the federal application, candidates may qualify for a work permit support letter.
  • This letter facilitates the acquisition of a work permit, allowing individuals to commence employment in PEI
